Inspiring Visit to Walter Reed National Military Medical Center

Last month the founders of Raven Drum Foundation and Project Resiliency, Rick Allen and Lauren Monroe Allen, visited Walter Reed on a well-visit tour. Whenever in Washington DC, this is exactly what they try to do and this time was no exception. It was after such visit in 2006 that Rick and Lauren decided to focus the nonprofits efforts supporting our wounded veterans.

While an honor to be with such strong individuals, it is also inspiring. Their courage and dedication are contagious.

I’m always impressed. Fantastic people committed to getting better. It’s inspiring, said Rick the following day.

The staff at Walter Reed are top notch and it was wonderful exchange ideas with them. We meet with the onsite music therapist, Rebecca Vaudreuil, EdM, MT-BC and plan to arrange for a drum circle on site in the future.

We would like to thank all of the warriors and staff who took the time to meet with us. We are already looking forward to the next time.
